  1. I super like this video! The cabbage-carrots-celery mixture is so versatile. I make eggrolls with this or similar mixture, blanch one minute, drain, add fresh or crystalized ginger tiny minced pieces (whatever I have onhand), season to taste and spoon into egg roll wraps, fry or bake. I think that drained mixture you made could be part of a version of "veggie" crab rangoon (the kind that has a little cream cheese nlmixture or wontons. I have never even thought about doing what you did. I gotta try that. Someone mentioned tomato aspic and I have heard of it but what is it? With gelatin? Did people used to do some kind of "aspic" with fish?

  2. After 8 years of being bedridden due to chronic health issues, you have inspired me to make strides to become stronger and get out of this bed! Your cooking, story time, Mr. Bucky videos, etc. really inspire me. Also, I love that you and Mr. Bucky are Christians and go to church! Thank you for your time producing these videos!

  3. I bought a rump roast today and intended to use the instapot pressure cooker but couldnt find a recipe. So I was remembering seeing this video. I never did a rump roast in oven but followed your recipe except for the packet you put on top I had none. I just salt and peppered and garlic powder. It took about 3 hrs and boy was it delicious! Very tender. I made an eye round weeks ago in my instapot it was very tough. But this was great. Thank you so much for teaching how to make.

  4. The hospital I trained at was run by nuns. They used to make that so called health salad, made with lime jello the vegetables with cottage cheese and nuts. Then they put a cream cheese icing on top with chopped nuts on top of that. It was the best salad I ever had. I wish I knew the receipt for the topping.

  5. Would you still add the vinegar to either the orange or lime jello? I am putting rump roast on my list as I haven't cooked one in ages. Will be cooking it in the Instant Pot. I am trying to use it more.

  6. Hi Miss Phyllis. Here in West Virginia we used to make a very similar salad~using the orange jello~for baby showers and such. I believe it was called "Perfection Salad." It was very yummy! I'll have to make it soon. Hugs to you and Mr. Bucky too!

  7. My grandma always made lime jello cabbage salad. You make the lime jello, she always put in a small square cake pan, and then put in shredded cabbage…maybe enough that would be a half inch or so. The cabbage stays on top when the jello firms up. You finish it up with a mixture of Miracle Whip, some sugar and a bit of milk to thin it a bit and then spread the mixture on top. Sounds odd, but tasty. I would love for you to try it, as you like lime jello.

  8. It amazes me when you say a meal can feed you and your husband for 4 days. It's just my husband and I and after eating that roast I would only have enough for sandwiches the next day. Let alone 4.

  9. I just love your videos. Again, back in the 50's, my Mother would make this Jello concoction during the summer. She usually made it with orange or lime Jello and used less ground cabbage, celery and carrots than you did. She also put it in a round gelatin ring mold so when it was unmolded she would cut it in slices. You brought back a fond memory of a childhood recipe I need to write down to pass on to my granddaughters. Thanks.

  10. Miss Phyllis, here is a jello salad you might like. It sounds like a weird combo but it's delicious! Jello Egg Salad: 3 oz package of lemon jello. 3 hardboiled eggs, chopped. 2t finely minced onion. Salt to taste. 1c finely chopped celery. 1c mayonnaise. Make jello and chill until partially set. Add mayonnaise and stir until well combined. Stir in rest of ingredients. Chill until set.

  11. Oh how I love rump roast. It's expensive, so I don't buy it often. Did you get this at Wal-Mart? Cause I haven't seen to many rump roasts there.
Your dinner here looks so delicious! I'm going to the store soon, so I am going to look for a rump roast. What a neat thing you die with the jello. I would never of thought of that. Great job my friend, Miss Phyllis!! ?

  12. Meals are never boring at your home. And the health aspects alone what with the emphasis on veggies and fruits… you’d be an asset for meal preparation at a school cafeteria say or a nursing home institution. They’d be lucky to have your input at the very least. Your smoothies could put hair back on a bald man’s head ?
