Sauce With Crunchy Topping |

Ingredients
.....1 (10 ounce) package frozen strawberries .....1 teaspoon sugar .....1 tablespoon cornstarch .....2 teaspoons strawberry flavored liqueur .....Crunchy Topping (recipe below) |
PreparationPlace strawberries in a liquid measuring cup; add water to make 2 cupsCombine sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan. Gradually add strawberry mixture, stirring until combined; cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and thickened. Stir in liqueur. Chill. Spoon over ice cream, and sprinkle with Crunchy Topping. Yield: 2 cups Crunchy Topping 2 tablespoons butter, melted 2/3 cup flaked coconut 1/4 cup chopped almonds 3 tablespoons brown sugar Combine all ingredients in a 9 inch square baking pan. Place under broiler, 4 inches from heat; broil, stirring occasionally, only until slightly browned. Yield: About 1 cup |
