Caramel Pecan Brownies


Ingredients

.....2/3 cup vanilla caramels (12 caramels)
.....1/3 cup butter
.....2 tablespoons milk
.....3/4 cup sugar
.....2 eggs
.....1/2 teaspoon vanilla
.....3/4 cup all purpose flour
.....1/2 teaspoon baking powder
.....1/4 teaspoon salt
.....1/2 cup chopped pecans

Preparation

In a 2 quart saucepan combine the caramels, butter, and milk.  Heat and stir over low heat just till caramels are melted.  Remove the saucepan from the heat.  Stir in the sugar.  Add the eggs and vanilla; stir till well blended.  Set aside.

In a mixing bowl combine flour, baking powder, and salt.  Add to saucepan mixture, stirring till blended.  Stir in pecans.  Turn into a greased 9 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes or till a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.  Cool in pan on a wire rack; cut into bars.

Yield:  About 20 brownies
